Green & Black's, a British confectionery brand within the Mondelez family, were about to launch their new range of ethical and indulgent chocolates here in Australia.

To support this launch, the brand hoped to get some buzz around their brand and products. They decided to book a large yet targeted sampling campaign that would not only bring their products into contact with new customers but could also provide them with valuable insights around their brand recognition and positioning within the Australian market.

Through Brandcrush, Green & Black’s engaged with nearly 90 targeted businesses, including co-working spaces, cafes, bottle shops and hotels. Free samples of the chocolates were supplied to the venues to give out to their customers as a “gift with purchase”, along with key brand info for staff.

The campaign was a huge success, achieving not only an incredible reach of 162,000 people but also providing a wealth of detailed, real-world insights about both the brand and products via customer feedback.

A workout proof mascara? No sweat.

While CoverGirl may need little introduction in the cosmetics world, their latest product — Outlast Active Sweat & Smudge-proof Mascara — was targetting a specific user group that the brand needed to tap into: fit, health and wellness-oriented young women. Many people don’t know that CoverGirl products are cruelty-free. The brand knew that this would be an important factor to their target demographic, and wanted this message communicated through their product promotion. Through Brandcrush’s network of premium businesses, the brand booked a sampling campaign through a 36 health and wellness clubs, including Xtend Barre, Bodhi & Ride, and yoga studios across Australia. The activations were a huge success, with customers happy not only with the quality of the product but the fact that they were given a full-sized product to sample. By aligning with businesses that already had an established relationship with their target customers the brand was able to leverage trust and build a positive brand association.

A refreshing new chew

Global fresh breath hero Tic Tac has recently released an exciting new product. With its delicious flavours, convenient and well-known package, and its iconic shape and size…it's everything we already love about the tiny freshmints, but now available in a chewing gum! Recognising a particular fit with consumers looking to freshen-up after a workout or healthy meal, the sugar-free gum was a no brainer for a sampling activation campaign through gyms, fitness studios and cafes. Through Brandcush, Tic Tac booked 21 activation spaces across Melbourne and Sydney targeting healthy fitster and urban lunch-goers. The campaign smashed it’s two key targets for distribution and interactions while delivering a cost-per-reach of just 71c, as opposed to the budgeted $1.80 — a massive 60% savings. It also introduced the chewy freshness to a key market of potential customers, receiving plenty of positive feedback and amplification through social media posts.

On the Menu

Trialling food products through established eateries

Goldyna Fine Foods were looking to grow their wholesaler market by engaging with established hospitality venues and building demand through direct sampling to customers Through Brandcrush, the brand booked an experiential campaign to get their two key products, Tartare Sauce and Swiss Style Mayonnaise, onto plates in Melbourne and Sydney. Each venue was responsible for incorporating the product into a special “on the menu” item. Customers were encouraged to try the product, with staff prepped to share key brand info when asked. The campaign was a resounding success with plenty of positive feedback coming back from customers, as well as important relationships established between the brand and the venues themselves.
