With our vegan orders, our customers loved the milk - particularly its dairy free component

Food provider

Sproud is a plant-based milk, ‘powered by peas’. Their mission is to make it easy for everyone to choose climate-friendly vegan products that taste delicious, with the aim of developing the best tasting non-dairy milk.

Sproud wanted to get their product into the hands of health and climate conscious consumers in New York City. They engaged Geezy’s network of food delivery drivers to enable a product sampling campaign, targeting consumers who purchased a vegan meal using delivery services such as UberEats and DoorDash.

By sampling their product to these targeted consumers, Sproud boosted their brand awareness and consideration for future purchases among their key market.

The partnership with Geezy started when Geezy reached out to Sproud using Brandcrush’s proposal tool — one of our most popular PRO features. Learn more about our proposal tool.

The sampling campaign helped Sproud reach 34,800 consumers throughout New York City across nine days. The campaign was a win-win for the food delivery providers, too, who were happy to surprise and delight their customers by distributing a free sample of Sproud’s Pea Milk. Accompanying the Pea Milk sample was a marketing flyer providing the consumer with Sproud’s mission, explaining how Sproud is a healthier, alternative to traditional dairy milk.

Brandcrush powers Geezy media across its top three major markets; Australia, UK and the USA. Brands can seamlessly discover opportunities to partner with Geezy via the activation marketplace or directly via their custom media site. Cutting through to a clean eating audience

Popular coconut water brand Harmless Harvest made their debut into the fast-growing  plant-based yogurt category in early 2020 with a range of dairy-free coconut yoghurts.  Known for their innovative processing methods, organic ingredients and clean labels, Harmless Harvest wanted to bring everything customers already love about the brand and offer a delicious yogurt alternative as the perfect breakfast or satisfying snack.  Operating in a highly competitive segment (plant-based yogurts saw a whopping 39% growth in the year to April 2019!) Harmless Harvest knows that they need to get cut-through and demonstrate to consumers exactly what makes their product so special. While there are many dairy-free coconut yogurts to choose from, the proof is in the pudding for Harmless Harvest with a noticeably creamier, cleaner-tasting product. So, they set out to get products into the hands of their target consumer. Using Brandcrush, Harmless Harvest connected with Green Chef — the  US#1 meal kit for eating well. Part of the HelloFresh family, Green Chef offers a variety of easy-to-follow meal plans for every lifestyle, like keto, plant-powered, and more. This is the meal kit for those who care about eating and living green.   Recognizing that Green Chef offered a powerful opportunity to connect with a niche audience of 85,000 health-conscious consumers. Harmless Harvest booked a chilled sampling campaign to have their Strawberry and Vanilla coconut yogurts included in Green Chef meal kits across the country. The samples included a buy-one-get-one coupon offer to encourage consumers to seek out the product in store at Whole Foods and Sprouts.  The campaign delivered on driving brand awareness and trial to a hyper targeted audience nationally across the US

John West reaches non-dairy milk drinkers through targeted cafe sampling

Popular tinned tuna brand, John West were excited to drive awareness and trial for their new Protein+Calcium Rich Tuna, which offers an impressive 100% of the recommended daily calcium intake in every tin. The brand wanted to run a sampling campaign with cafes, prompting customers to think about whether they’re getting enough calcium within their day. With many consumers switching to a non-dairy milk for their daily cup of joe, therefore missing out on their usual calcium intake, Liquid Ideas (John West’s agency) thought it’d be a good idea to tap into this growing consumer trend by engaging with dairy-free consumers at their favourite coffee spots. For the launch of John Wests’ world first Protein+Calcium Rich Tuna, sampling partners were required to distribute one free can to each customer, with a particular focus on those who were ordering non-dairy milk drinks to encourage the idea of calcium consumption. Through hyper targeted sampling, John West was able to build and execute a campaign where they reached a total of 8,520 cafe goers across 19 booked spaces at an average CPR of just $0.39.

Achieving intimacy and engagement, at scale

Picky Picky Peanuts (owned by Bega Cheese) wanted to raise awareness and gain valuable feedback on three product flavours from their target audience of 18-29-year-old men. They used Brandcrush to find and connect with businesses that offered direct access to this consumer group, booking in sampling activations with 16 Barber and Bottle Shop spaces in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, including Jimmy Rods, Men's Biz and Bottle House. Over a week-long campaign period, Activation Partners at these locations distributed a total of 22,600 samples to their customers as a gift with purchase. By sampling in spaces already aligned with their target market, Picky Picky Peanuts were able to connect with consumers in a way that was meaningful to their product: in a relaxed environment, served alongside a nice cold beer. This is product sampling the way it should be — intimate, relevant and effective, with the added bonus of 40+ Instagram-worthy images that Picky Picky Peanuts were able to share on their social accounts.
