Fodbods are delicious, FODMAP-friendly protein bars made from all-natural, non-GMO ingredients. Created in Melbourne by female food entrepreneur, Vanessa, they are low in sugar, vegan, and gluten free.

While a great choice for those with FODMAP or gluten intolerances, Fodbods are also a delicious, healthy option for anyone looking for a high protein snack. They're one of the few vegan protein bars that aren't packed with sugar and additives. They're super healthy, filling and convenient — the perfect snack when hunger strikes!

Available for purchase in local health food stores across Australia, Fodbods were looking to connect with health-conscious consumers to build awareness, share key product info, and drive in-store purchase.

The brand used Brandcrush to search and find the perfect, targetted opportunities to connect with their key consumers. They booked a goody-bag sampling campaign into five spaces, including health and wellness studios, and the popular Business Chicks “9 to thrive” event. Each space was given full-sized samples of the product to share with attendees in two delicious flavours: Peanut Butter & Choc Chunk, and Lemon & Coconut.

The campaign was a hit for both the brand and the host spaces. Consumers responded with resoundingly positive feedback, loving the healthy snack options and appreciating the generous full-sized sample. A number of people commented that they would definitely seek out the product in-store. The activations also generated a number of amazing images, which the brand could then use to amplify their reach through social media channels.

Achieving intimacy and engagement, at scale

Picky Picky Peanuts (owned by Bega Cheese) wanted to raise awareness and gain valuable feedback on three product flavours from their target audience of 18-29-year-old men. They used Brandcrush to find and connect with businesses that offered direct access to this consumer group, booking in sampling activations with 16 Barber and Bottle Shop spaces in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, including Jimmy Rods, Men's Biz and Bottle House. Over a week-long campaign period, Activation Partners at these locations distributed a total of 22,600 samples to their customers as a gift with purchase. By sampling in spaces already aligned with their target market, Picky Picky Peanuts were able to connect with consumers in a way that was meaningful to their product: in a relaxed environment, served alongside a nice cold beer. This is product sampling the way it should be — intimate, relevant and effective, with the added bonus of 40+ Instagram-worthy images that Picky Picky Peanuts were able to share on their social accounts.

Beauty, fashion and fun

Garnier, part of the international French cosmetics company, L’Oreal, is already known the world-over for their innovative skin and hair products. Looking to connect with their target market of young beauty lovers, the brand recognized a key opportunity to align with the fun and glamour of Melbourne’s iconic Spring Racing Carnival. Each year, the Spring Racing Carnival draws more than 100,000 people into Melbourne with a calendar of events, fashion, food and entertainment. Using Brandcrush’s innovative booking platform, Garnier was able to identify targetted accommodation and hospitality in and around the city through which they could offer a selection of their products to racegoers in a relevant, contextual environment. The brand booked their Product Placement & Sponsorship activation into six premium hotel, Airbnb and restaurant locations. They provided samples of the Garnier Hydrabomb Tissue Mask, Garnier Hydrabomb Eye Mask and Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water for consumers to feel refreshed and rejuvenated after their fun-filled day of festivities. Staff at each space placed the samples on the countertops or in bathrooms of hotels/Airbnb’s for guests to enjoy during their stay. They also launched these products at a premium bar and restaurant in Sydney, The Bucket List, who hosted a special Melbourne Cup event with hundreds of attendees watching the race. Along with the samples, marketing materials encouraged consumers to find the brand online where they could enjoy a special Spring Carnival offer. The activation was a huge success. For a cost-per-reach of just $0.43, Garnier reached more than 13,000 potential customers, building brand awareness and driving interest for the in-store product. Feedback from both consumers and the Host businesses has been overwhelmingly positive. The campaign also gave the brand invaluable feedback directly from consumers, with each sampling location providing a detailed Activation Report complete with plenty of fun images for use on social media.
